Source Tagging
Source Tagging is the process by which disposable or recyclable Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) anti-theft labels and / or Hard Tags are incorporated into merchandise at the manufacturing, packaging, or third party level. This is the fastest growing sector of the EAS industry.
By applying the label or tag at the source, some outstanding benefits can be realised
- Increased sales as product is delivered 'shelf ready' and does not require in-store preparation
- Reduction of in-store labor costs, allowing store colleagues to focus on serving customers, and for Loss Prevention staff to focus on monitoring EAS alarm activity.
- Increased Compliance of Tagging Policy, therefore not tagging too much or too little product in store. The ordering, delivery and storage of EAS Tags to each store is removed.
- Increased Compliance with Tagging Guidelines, therefore reducing the rate of false deactivations through misplacement of labels.
- Reduction of internal shrinkage as product is tagged throughout the Supply Chain
Programmes involve the application of EAS labels, either overtly or covertly, on the packaging of a product, or the application and recycling of Hard Tags in the apparel sector. This solution, where by 1 Hard Tag can be re-used up to 20 times in a programme over a 5 year period can vastly reduce the operational costs of an EAS programme.
Source Tagging UPC Barcode Printed RF Labels
Our 8.2MHz RF Labels are available to be provided with thermal direct paper to enable a UPC barcode to be printed on to the RF Label, therefore reducing the number of labels adhered to a product, and therefore reducing operational costs. Through integrated scan deactivation, the combined RF Label and UPC Barcode can eliminate instances of failure to deactivate, and increase the ease with which retail assistants can locate the RF Label.
Source Tagging Hang Tags and Swing Tickets
Integrated EAS Swing tickets enable garments to be protected with a single ticketing solution, without the need to apply a separate Hard Tag, therefore reducing in store labour costs in application, and increasing efficiencies at the point of sale. Integrated EAS Swing tickets are available in both AM and RF technologies, with a number of different substrates including Tyvek and Cardboard. Printed with customer specific logos and UPC barcode data and attached with a kimble, EAS Swing tickets offer a mass market retailer the opportunity to source protect garments without the investment in Hard Tags.
Visible Source Tagging - VST
The VST is designed to be applied at the manufacturing source enabling goods to arrive in the store EAS ready as well as delivering consistent tag placement. When an item is sold, store associates simply remove the tag at the point-of-sale, discarding or recycling the tag.
